OUR STORY
North American Trapper ®
The North American Trapper® concept has been decades in the making. While the brand officially began in 2003, its roots were planted in founder Alan Probst’s spirit in the late 1970s when he caught his first muskrat at just 7 years old. Raised in a family of hunters, trappers, and outdoorsmen, a deep respect for nature and the outdoors was instilled early and continues to drive the mission today. After a 10-year professional baseball career, Alan returned to Pennsylvania to build a brand centered on a simple belief: more education and hands-on instruction in the “Art of Trapping” was needed for today’s outdoors community.
From the beginning, the goal of North American Trapper™ has been to promote responsible, effective, and environmentally sound trapping and predation control methods. Education, Media & Industry Leadership Over the years, North American Trapper® has produced more than 40 instructional DVDs covering trapping and outdoor-related education. Alan Probst has served as a speaker, mentor, and media contributor at local, regional, and national levels.
